Whipple is the child of Dr. Steam Whipple, who is also responsible for Dandy Job, fulfilling the need to extract expressive sounds from the electric guitar. It started with the DIY craze of the early 2000s, when ideas were flowing and great sounding electric guitar gear was becoming available again. The internet age brought a resurgence of interest in classic, vintage models, being improved and revamped by boutique builders. Dr. Whipple joined the movement with his own initial public offerings including the Whipple Wah-Wah Inductor and Baby Tooth pedal, plus numerous other guitar, pickup, pedal and amp designs. He’s worked in acoustic design too, building studios around New York City, plus he's worked closely with the Park and Sundragon Amp brands.
