Product Description
Here we have a Taylor 714ce Grand Auditorium acoustic guitar from 2006! This one features a cedar top and ES-1 electronics.
Other specs include rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and ebony bridge. The body and neck are bound in rosewood, the body has multi-ply purfling, and the rosette looks to be figured koa. The tuners are gold Taylor units and the bridge pins have abalone dot inlays. It has a 1 3/4" nut width and 25 1/2" scale.
This guitar is in pretty good condition overall. The body has a few small faint dings and small nicks around the body edges. There is a spot of finish delamination on the side at the neck joint. The face of the headstock shows some marks or age. The neck bolt label has been accessed, most likely to change a neck angle shim. There are other light signs of playing and handling when inspected closely but no major damage or player wear.
The guitar weighs 4lbs 14oz. The neck measures .835 to .890 at the 1st and 10th frets. It has a classic Taylor oval C feel to it. The guitar has warm mids with good clarity and an almost harpsichord-like top end. It plays easily with nice projection and sustain. We really like these cedar top versions.
Ships in the original Taylor hardshell case.
