Description
Here we have a great sounding Takamine N-15 dreadnought acoustic guitar! This one was built in Japan in 1987 and is in very good condition.
Specs include a solid cedar top, rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard and ebony bridge. The guitar has maple binding with wood purfling and a rosewood headstock veneer. It has a 25.4" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width. The entire guitar sports a satin finish.
The guitar has been well-maintained and appears to be crack free. It has a handful of light dings on the top and a few notable scratches / marks on the back. There are light surface scratches and scuffs as well, but no major damage. The satin neck is glossy from playing and there are a couple minor chips at the headstock edge.
This one weighs 4lbs 2oz. The neck measures .850 to .960 at the 1st and 9th frets. It has a full, rounded profile with an asymmetrical carve. The guitar is lively and warm with a colorful mid-range and good clarity. It strums quite easily and also has good single note articulation. Overall the guitar is wonderfully built and fun to play.
Ships in a period hardshell case.
