Description
Here we have a very nice vintage Takamine F-400 12-String acoustic guitar from 1976. This one was built in Japan and is in very good condition for its age.
Specs include a spruce top, rosewood back & sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge. It has gold strip tuners, dot inlays and multi-ply body binding. The scale is 25.4" and the nut width is 1 7/8".
The guitar is quite clean overall. There are light pick marks on the guard and a few light dings over the body. There are light surface scratches and topical marks too. The back of the neck has a long faint dent that can be felt subtly while playing and a few other topical marks. There do not appear to be any cracks or repairs.
The guitar weighs 4lbs 13oz. The neck measures .890 to 1.010 at the 1st and 10th frets. It has a D shaped profile that is fairly consistent in depth up until the heel transition. The guitar appears to be a D12-28 style instrument, complete with Takamine & Co logo. It plays quite easily with a loud, bold tone and excellent clarity.
Ships in the original hardshell case.
