Guitar combo Used Amplifier
with 23 Watts, Single 12" Speaker, Reverb - Tweed Finish
Product Description
Samamp 23-Verb
Serial number 160622
Hand built by Sam Timberlake in Alabama. A true incarnation of a boutique built tube amplifier, with point to point wiring all component to component & buss wire. No terminal board, turret strip, or eyelet board to be seen here...let alone a PCB. The now long discontinued 23-Verb has the V.A.C. system and spring reverb. The V.A.C. allows you to reduce the power of the amp in increments from 23 watts to 18 watts, 11 watts, and 7 watts. This is achieved by feeding the extra wattage to a set of light bulbs within the amp, which act as an attenuator on the power section.
The tone very much matches the tweed look of the amplifier, it is very much Fender in its flavor. The tube compliment is a 12AT7, 12AU7, two 12AX7's, and a pair of 6V6 power tubes. The Eminence Lil' Texas Neodymium speaker provides plenty of power while keeping the overall weight of the amplifier pretty light at coming in at 28 lbs. The tone stack is a treble and bass with a push pull on the treble knob, which accesses a mid boost. There is an additional boost stage accessed via an included footswitch with a potentiometer to control the boost amount. With the V.A.C. system you can get the amp to break up wonderfully and the mid boost circuit allows you to push the amp into a bit more of a British style of overdrive.
The amp is in overall excellent condition with only slight tarnish on the control plate and a few scuffs to the tweed. Dust cover is included.
Happy to answer any questions.
