With all of the modern guitar options out there, it can be hard to stand out from the crowd, but Pre-War has managed to do just that. With their long ETAs and scarce availability on the used market, you know that folks who snap these up end up holding onto them.

The Herringbone is simply Pre-War's take on the iconic Dreadnought design, hand-built in North Carolina with the finest woods and attention to detail as the vintage models. This particular Herringbone is a 2023 shade top model, featuring an Adirondack spruce top, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, and ebony bridge. The back and sides are the more affordable variety of Indian Rosewood, but of course Pre-War utilize old-growth wood for these builds. 

This instrument also features the 1.5 distress level which is subtle and not overly stated. It's just enough aging to make the guitar instantly accessible and playable without worrying about putting the first mark on it. Additionally the guitar has a bone nut, long pattern diamond and square inlays, vintage fretboard taper, and a body-matching Indian Rosewood headplate. It weighs 4lbs 3oz. The neck measures .850 at the 1st and 1.020 at the 10th.

The guitar sounds excellent, easily as good as any other modern interpretation of pre-WWII builds. This one plays effortlessly, not too tight under the picking hand, with a fingerboard that is easy to navigate. It doesn't take much power to get the air moving, and the sound is pure, bold, and clear like you'd hope. We have to admit this Indian Rosewood version rivals the tone of the Brazilian models we've heard.

This guitar ships in an Original Case Company hardshell case that is black with crushed green velvet interior. The case shows a few scuffs to the exterior. It includes the truss rod adjustment tool, guitar end pin, sticker, and warranty paperwork.
