Kramer American Sustainer Rosewood Fingerboard 1989 - Black

Here we have a 1989 Kramer Sustainer! This one sports a black finish and a rosewood fingerboard.

Other specs include an alder body, 3-piece maple neck, pointed headstock shape, and dot inlays with a 12th fret Kramer block inlay. It has a Floyd Rose locking tremolo, Floyd Rose nut and Schaller tuners. It appears to retain the original active electronics including the bridge humbucker and neck sustainer pickup.

This guitar has seen some rewiring in the past it appears, however it does seem to be functioning correctly. The neck pickup sustains as advertised. There is a volume control, tone control and sustain intensity control. There is a mini toggle for pickup selection, one for mode selection and an on/off switch for the sustainer. There is also a red LED for low power indication.

The guitar is in good shape overall. Notably it appears the Floyd Rose nut mounting holes were filled and then re-drilled at some point. The body shows topical scratches over a lot of its surface. There are a few chips around the edges too, some of which have black touch up applied by hand. The back of the neck feels a touch worn down low and there appears to be some light sanding in the area of the nut mounting holes. The frets are in good shape.

This one weighs 8lbs 6oz. The neck measures .740 to .880 at the 1st and 12th. It has a slim D shaped neck that just barely stays round at the apex. It plays fast and has a slinky feel. It’s resonant and easy to bend on, and the Floyd has a nice response to it. The guitar sounds great and the sustainer is hours of fun!

Ships in a modern SKB molded hardshell case and includes the tremolo arm.
