Product Description
Here we have a vintage Kay K27 Jumbo Acoustic Guitar with a Baxendale Conversion! This one features a natural top with a sunburst back.
Specs include a spruce top, maple body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, block inlays, single ply white guard, and open gear Grover tuners. It has a 25 3/4” scale length with a 1 13/16” nut width. It has been re-braced by Baxendale with a scalloped X brace, two tone bars, and a large rosewood bridge plate.
The guitar is in good playing shape with the overhaul done by Baxendale. It’s super solid with a good neck angle and nice playability. The finish is worn as you might expect, with plenty of checking and a little finish flaking on the sides. It has modern medium jumbo frets which are in good shape too.
This one weighs 5lbs 5oz. The neck measures .970 to 1.130 at the 1st and 9th frets. It’s a massive neck with a full shoulder and nearly flat apex. The guitar has a long scale which aids in producing volume, even if you have to work for it. The guitar is 17 1/4” at the lower bout and has a big sound with warm, round low end and nice top end clarity.
Ships in a vintage case with a cool paint job.
