Product Description
Jazzmaster style partscaster. 7lbs 9oz
MJT flame maple neck with a Fender headstock and a nice relic job. 9.5” fretboard radius, 1 5/8” nut width, and what look like medium jumbo frets with no wear. The neck shape is fairly thin, approximately .80” at the first fret to .90” at the twelfth fret. Non-branded Kluson style tuners. The low E tuner is slightly bent and a bit loose, but works fine once it is under string tension.
2013 Curtis Novak JM-WR (Jazzmaster Wide Range) pickups with Chrome covers. CTS 1 Meg potentiometers. The bridge pickup cover is slightly misshapen on the treble side, the corner closer the the neck is slightly bent in. The pickup height is low to the body on the neck pickup, at 7mm, with a 4mm height on the bridge pickup. The neck must be very high output as the pickups are nicely balanced. The rhythm circuit had been removed and covered with electrical tape from the inside
Mastery bridge installed with a Fender tailpiece and replacement American Vintage tremolo arm. I have put a kink in the arm so it holds position when installed yet moves freely when pushed past the tone control
The body is a nicely aged white, not dissimilar to Olympic White, with a pleasing natural wear. The color has faded nicely, yet there is an area at the forearm contour where the white is brighter from wear. There are dents and dings throughout, some belt buckle rash/worming on the back, and hole on the bass side horn that has been filled where a strap button was once installed. It looks like someone hard a rough time installing the Mastery bridge thimbles into the body as it’s a bit rough around them.
I suspect the body is Fender, potentially from the late sixties or seventies. The pickguard looks to be original from the tortoise pattern and wear, it has the shrinking you see on vintage guards so many of the pickguard screws are at an angle. Several of the pickguard screw holes have been filled with toothpicks and wood glue. The cavity has the vintage Fender style brass shielding plates. The tailpiece appears the be a vintage example as well judging by the wear, with the “Fender” and “PAT# 2972925” stamp although later reissues are marked this way as well.
It appears the body was either completely refinished or oversprayed at some point, the peninsula of wood where the pickguard screw between the volume and tone knobs mount was split away at some point and that area is finished over in white. That pickguard mounting screw is missing. There is what looks like a soldering iron burn between the tone control and output jack as well as a dent on the corner of the neck heel and in the treble side cutaway.
The guitar is currently setup with 11-49 D-Addario XTE strings, the bridge height at the optimal 3mm off the body and the tremolo lock functioning. Gator Pro Go gig bag included
Happy to answer any questions or provide any measurements needed. I have plenty more pictures of the body routes, electronics, and tailpiece. Happy to take any additional pictures as well
