Description
Designed with Stu Mackenzie of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, the JAM Tiny Amp Destroyer is a three-footswitch gain pedal combining two independent drive stages with a standalone treble booster. The circuit traces back to Stu running two Boomsters into a pawn-shop amp until it broke down in the right way — JAM used that instability as the starting point for an entirely new design.
G2 handles lower-gain breakup and driven tones. G1 runs hotter, into heavier overdrive and distortion. Stack them for the pedal's most saturated sounds, or use either stage on its own. Active Bass and Treble controls with boost and cut let you shape the overall character, while MAGIC shifts the response toward the compressed, boxy behavior of a small amp pushed past its limits. The Notch control progressively removes a key frequency band as you turn it up — useful for anything from subtle scooping to genuinely hollow, unconventional sounds.
The third footswitch activates an independent treble booster based on JAM's Rooster circuit. Positioned before G1 and G2, it tightens the low end, sharpens the attack, and changes how both drive stages respond. An internal DIP switch selects between Full (broader, with more low-frequency content) and Standard (more focused, traditional treble-booster) voicings. TAD ships in Full mode.
G1 Global Bypass mode lets the G1 footswitch control the entire pedal — useful for bringing a pre-configured stack in and out with a single press.
