Description
Here we have a really nice Ibanez LACS 5-string fretless bass guitar! It is in very good overall condition and includes the original case.
Features include a figured koa top, alder body, maple neck, matching headstock veneer, burled ramp and rosewood fingerboard. The board is lined with 24 position markers, has offset dot inlays, and sports a clear gloss finish. The body and back of the neck have satin finishes. The scale length is 34”, it has a 1 3/4” nut width and the string spacing is 19.0mm. It has a Nordstrand Big Single pickup and active electronics.
This one appears to be the Rufus Philpot spec, and the case has his name written on the exterior. There is no provenance with the instrument, but appears to have been made in the LA Custom Shop for Rufus. It is in very good condition with light signs of use present. There are a few light dings on the treble side of the body and other faint topical marks, but no major dents or damage.
The bass weighs 8lbs 5oz. The neck measures .730 to .820 at the 1st and 12th. It has a very slim oval C neck. It stays round at the apex, but only just. The satin neck finish feels fast and the bass plays quite well. It sets up with low action and feels responsive under the right hand.
Ships in the original molded Ibanez case.
