Product Description
Here we have a vintage Harmony H1260 Sovereign jumbo acoustic guitar! This one features a natural finish and is in good overall condition.
It has a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge. The guitar is ladder braced with a 16” lower bout, 4 1/4” deep body, 25 1/8” scale length and 1 3/4” nut width. It has open gear strip tuners, a tortoise guard and a 3 ring rosette.
This one has survived quite well over the years. It had a large double guard that has been removed, but the silhouette can still be seen on the top. There is light checking, dings and scratches over the surface of the instrument. One of the dot inlays is missing. It looks to have had some light regluing and repair done in the past but remains in nice condition without any major damage.
The guitar weighs 3lbs 11oz. The neck measures .870 to .950 at the 1st and 9th frets. It has a full D shaped carve with a medium shoulder and nearly flat apex. The guitar has a really nice tone with warm mids, good clarity and colorful overtones. It reaches a nice volume when pushed but also sounds sweet played lightly, plus it has excellent sustain. The action is a bit high and the intonation is pretty close, but certainly could be improved with some work put in.
Ships in a cool vintage silver and black chipboard case.
