12 string Vintage Acoustic Guitar
with Mahogany Back & Sides, Spruce Top, Mahogany Neck, Rosewood Fretboard, Rosewood Bridge - Mahogany Brown Finish
Product Description
Here we have a nice sounding 1981 Guild D-212M 12-String Dreadnought acoustic guitar! This Westerly, RI label instrument sports a Mahogany Brown finish and plays quite well.
Specs include mahogany back and sides, a spruce top, mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard. It is a traditional Dreadnought shape with 14 frets clear of the body, 6 on a side strip tuners, and a rosewood bridge. It is an x-braced guitar with an aftermarket internal pickup mounted below the bridge.
The guitar is in good condition overall and appears to be crack free. It shows scratches, light dings and a few paint chips over its surface. The top is flat with maybe a hint of hump behind the bridge. The neck set looks good, and the action is nice. It intonates and plays cleanly up and down the neck.
This one weighs 5lbs 12oz. The neck measures .860 to .980 at the 1st and 9th frets. The nut measures 1 13/16", and the profile is D shaped with a nice shoulder and an almost flat apex. Most folks say the 12-String Guilds are great guitars, and based off of this one we'd have to agree. It's built to stand the test of time and produces a wonderful tone. It's warm and rich with nice treble clarity and a touch of natural reverb. It's a loud guitar that's easy to play and easy to enjoy.
Ships in a period hardshell case that appears to be the original.
