The Gretsch White Falcon is one of the iconic models in guitar history, equally rare and beautiful with its own unique sound. Gretsch has long-reissued the model in various iterations, but they totally knocked it out of the park with the introduction of the Players Edition models. Crafted in Japan in 2021, this G6136TG boasts a beautiful Midnight Sapphire finish, trimmed in gold sparkle binding, with gold hardware.

The key features that make this Players Edition player-friendly are the string-through Bigsby, rolled fingerboard edges, luminlay side dots, locking tuners, Graph Tech Tusq nut, and adjusto-matic bridge. It's pretty impressive to hear the tone of the instrument, achieving that vintage Gretsch sound while not being tonally limited with the addition of these player components. The 12" radius, 25.5" scale, and standard U neck are easy to navigate while the FT-67 Filter'Tron pickups are surprisingly glassy, rich and harmonically complex. We also love that Gretsch set this up with separate bridge and neck volume controls, three-way pickup switch, no-load master tone and master volume, plus their "Squeezebox" capacitor and treble-bleed circuit. So many modern amenities packed into the comfortable 2.5" deep maple body.

This one has been played but not abused. There are faint surface scratches, mainly on the back, as well as some light lacquer delamination on the back of the neck. The neck finish is unfortunate but seems totally stable and is not noticeable while playing. There are a handful of tiny dings and marks on the body, as well as some oxidation on the gold parts, but overall we'd say it's in excellent shape.

It weighs 7lbs 13oz. The neck is .850 at the first and .935 at the 10th. Being a maple guitar, it has a bold, round sound. Plenty of tight bass response, scooped mids, and a nice jangly top end that is not overly bright. It's a hollow instrument, which translates well through the pickups, without being woofy or prone to feedback even with some volume and overdrive.

We absolutely love this color, and it truly is packed with amazing features. It's built wonderfully, and plays even better. Ships in the original hardshell case and set up with D'Addarion EXL115 strings, an 11-49 gauge set as it shipped from the factory.
