Limited Edition 1958 Custom Penguin in Nightbird Emerald
The G6134TG-58 is a limited edition Penguin built around the construction details of the 1958 Penguin. The body is chambered mahogany with an arched maple top ā the same vintage chambering approach used in the original. The finish is Nightbird Emerald in nitrocellulose lacquer, with gold sparkle binding and W/B/W/B purfling. Made in Japan.
The neck is mahogany with a Standard āUā profile, set into the body, with a 24.6" scale length and a 1.6875" nut width. The ebony fingerboard has a 12" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, Mother of Pearl neo-classic thumbnail inlays, and Luminlay side dots. The nut is bone.
TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Trons
Both neck and bridge positions carry TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter'Tron pickups, a design based on the original Filter'Tron developed by Ray Butts in the 1950s. Controls include individual volume knobs for each pickup, a master volume, jeweled G-Arrow knobs, a 3-position pickup toggle, and a 3-position tone switch.
Hardware & Appointments
Hardware is gold throughout. The tailpiece is a Bigsby B3GP in a string-thru configuration, paired with a Space Control bridge with a pinned ebony base. Tuners are Grover Imperial. The pickguard is gold plexi with a gold Gretsch logo and Penguin graphic. Comes with a G6238XL Gretsch deluxe hardshell case.
