Here we have a Gretsch Limited Edition G6134T-58 Penguin with a Light Blue Pearl top! This brand new build features silver sparkle binding and chrome hardware.
Specs include an arched maple top, chambered mahogany body, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, Neo Classic inlays, and a silver plexi guard. It has Grover Imperial tuners, as well as a Space Control bridge with a pinned ebony base. The Bigsby is a modern string-thru unit for easy restrings, and the side dots are modern Luminlay for greater position visibility on dark stages. The pickups are a set of TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter’Trons, which are era correct with a wonderful vintage sound.
This guitar weighs 8lbs 7oz. The neck measures .800 to .970 at the 1st and 12th frets. It has the Standard U neck carve which an oval feel with medium depth. This guitar is extremely lively and resonant with the chambered body. We love the finish, clearly inspired by old drum wrap material like early Gretsch Sparkle Jets wore. It’s also great to see a Penguin decked out in silver with the sparkle binding, sparkle control plates, chrome hardware, and silver plexi guard.
