Description
The G6131T-62 Vintage Select '62 Jet is Gretsch's careful recreation of one of the most distinctive double-cutaway electrics from their early-'60s catalog. Built in Japan, it draws on the specific details that defined the Jet at that moment in time — black back, zero fret, gold hardware — and pairs them with construction and electronics that hold up to serious playing.
Chambered Mahogany Body
The body is chambered mahogany with an arched laminated maple top. The chambering opens up the resonance and gives the guitar a livelier, more articulate character than a fully solid body would. The result is a Jet that breathes a little, with harmonics that sustain and bloom rather than cut off.
TV Jones Filter'Tron Classics
Both neck and bridge positions are loaded with TV Jones Filter'Tron Classic pickups. These are the benchmark for vintage Filter'Tron tone — clear, punchy, and balanced, with enough output to push an amp without getting muddy.
Bigsby B3G & Space Control Bridge
The Bigsby B3G tailpiece pairs with a Space Control bridge for smooth, stable vibrato. The ebony fingerboard, Standard "U" neck profile, and 12" radius make for a comfortable, familiar feel across styles. Grover Sta-Tite tuners keep things in tune.
Finished in Firebird Red with aged white binding, pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, and a black plexi pickguard.
