Description
The Gretsch G6129T-89 Vintage Select '89 Sparkle Jet with Bigsby is a Japan-made electric guitar built around the late-'80s Jet design — chambered mahogany body, arched laminated maple top, and a maple set neck with a 12"-radius rosewood fingerboard. It's a period-accurate take on a guitar that found its way into the hands of players who defined a particular era of American rock.
Pickups & Electronics
The guitar is loaded with a TV Jones TV Classic Plus at the bridge and a TV Jones TV Classic at the neck — both voiced to capture the character of vintage Filter'Tron-style pickups. Controls include individual volume knobs for each pickup, a master volume with treble bleed circuit, a master tone, and a three-position toggle switch.
Construction & Hardware
The chambered mahogany body is topped with an arched laminated maple cap and finished in Gold Sparkle with a silver plexi pickguard. Hardware is nickel throughout, with Gotoh die-cast tuners, an Adjusto-Matic bridge on a pinned rosewood base, and a Bigsby B3C vibrato tailpiece. The bone nut, pearloid Hump Block inlays, and late-'80s black headstock with horseshoe inlay round out the period-correct details.
