Description
George Harrison Signature Duo Jet with DynaSonic Pickups
The G6128T-GH is a signature Duo Jet built around the specific construction and modifications of the 1957 Gretsch Duo Jet that George Harrison acquired secondhand in the early 1960s. The body is chambered mahogany with an arched laminated maple top, replicating the lightweight mid-1950s construction of the original. Body binding is three-ply white/black/white. The finish is Black. Made in Japan.
The neck is a 1-piece mahogany construction with a “U” profile and a rosewood fingerboard. Scale length is 24.6", nut width is 1.6875", and the board has a 12" radius with 22 vintage small frets and pearloid hump-block inlays. Single-ply white binding runs the neck and headstock. Harrison’s signature appears on the truss rod cover.
DynaSonic Single-Coil Pickups & Controls
Both neck and bridge positions carry DynaSonic single-coil pickups. Controls include individual volume knobs for each pickup, a single tone control, and G-Arrow knobs. Pickup selection is via a 3-position toggle.
Hardware & Appointments
Hardware is chrome-plated throughout. The tailpiece is a Bigsby B3C vibrato with Gretsch logo and a black Phillips head tremolo arm pivot bolt — a detail specific to Harrison’s original instrument. The bridge is a vintage-style rocking bar on a rosewood base. Tuners are Grover V98CM Sta-Tite die-cast. An offset strap button is located on the lower bout. The pickguard is silver plexi with a black Gretsch logo. Comes with a premium tweed hardshell case.
