Description
Chambered Mahogany Jet with TV Jones Filter'Trons and Bigsby
The G6128T-59 Vintage Select '59 Duo Jet is part of Gretsch's Vintage Select Edition, a line built around the construction methods and materials of the late 1950s and early 1960s. This is the Duo Jet in Black — the original Gretsch flagship "solid body" configuration, made in Japan.
The body is chambered mahogany with an arched laminated maple top, allowing air to move between the top and body. The neck is mahogany with a Vintage "V" profile and an ebony fingerboard. Scale length is 24.6", nut width is 1.6875", and the board has a 12" radius with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid neo-classic thumbnail inlays.
TV Jones Filter'Tron Classics
Both positions are loaded with TV Jones Filter'Tron Classic pickups, a design based on the original Filter'Tron that first appeared on Gretsch Jet models in 1959. Controls include individual volume knobs for neck and bridge pickups, a master volume, G-Arrow knobs, a 3-position pickup toggle, and a 3-position tone switch.
