Description
Vintage Select Tennessean with Parallel Tone Bars and TV Jones Hilo'Trons
The G6119T-62 Vintage Select Edition '62 Tennessean is a hollow body guitar built to reflect the construction details of the early 1960s Tennessean. The body is laminated maple with parallel tone bars — the bracing method used in the original — rather than the center block or Arc-Tone construction found in later designs. The finish is Deep Cherry Stain with aged white binding and black purfling. Made in Japan.
The neck is maple with a Standard “U” profile and a rosewood fingerboard. Scale length is 24.6", nut width is 1.6875", and the board has a 12" radius with 22 vintage small frets and pearloid neo-classic thumbnail inlays. The nut is bone.
TV Jones TV-HT Pickups & Controls
Both neck and bridge positions carry TV Jones TV-HT pickups, a single-coil design based on the original Hilo'Tron that appeared on Gretsch Tennessean models in the early 1960s. Controls include individual volume knobs for each pickup, a master volume, G-Arrow knobs, and a 3-position pickup toggle. The circuit includes “Squeezebox” capacitors.
