Here we have a 2021 Gretsch G5230 Chicago Music Exchange Exclusive Eletromatic Jet FT! This one has been fully upgraded aftermarket.
Specs include a maple top, mahogany body, mahogany neck, laurel fingerboard, block inlays and factory Shell Pink finish. All of the parts are basically replaced on the guitar, swapped to Gold from their original nickel. It has Grover Imperial tuners, a Guyker tailpiece, an adjustomatic type bridge with roller saddles, and an added armrest. The pickups are a proper set of TV Jones TV Classics.
Beyond being updated to gold parts and having an armrest added, this one is in great shape. There are a few topical marks and a couple of tiny pinpoint dings noticeable when inspected closely. There isn’t much in the way of play wear though and certainly no damage.
It weighs 8lbs 6oz. The neck measures .840 to .910 at the 1st and 12th frets. It has a “Thin U” neck which really just feels like a modern elliptical C. The guitar sets up and plays great. It has plenty of resonance and plays easily up and down the neck. We love the upgrades like the arm rest, with the pickups obviously being a nice tonal improvement. Overall a really fun guitar!
