Description
Here we have a brand new Gretsch Falcon Hollow Body with String-Thru Bigsby in White! This is the Professional Collection Falcon — Gretsch's flagship hollow body — and it is one of the most iconic and visually commanding guitars ever made. Handcrafted in Japan, it delivers everything you'd want from a Falcon: stunning looks, a massive, resonant voice, and a feature set built for serious players.
This particular guitar weighs 8lbs 1oz. The neck measures .800 to .930 at the 1st and 10th frets. The body is a 17"-wide, 2.5"-deep laminated maple hollow body with Arc-Tone bracing — a construction that gives the Falcon its characteristic depth, projection, and natural warmth. The gold sparkle binding on the body, neck, and F-holes, the gold plexi pickguard with the iconic Black Falcon graphic, and the G-Arrow knobs make this one of the most visually striking instruments on the market. It's a guitar that commands attention before you play a single note.
Under the hood it's equally well-sorted. A pair of PRO-FT Filter'Tron humbucking pickups deliver the classic Gretsch snap and clarity, with individual volume controls for each pickup, a master volume with treble bleed circuit, and a master no-load tone control with Gretsch's "Squeezebox" capacitor for a silky, vintage-correct high end. The string-thru Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece pairs with an Adjusto-Matic bridge on a pinned ebony base for smooth, stable vibrato, and Grover Imperial locking tuners keep everything in tune. The 12"-radius ebony fingerboard has rolled edges, 22 medium jumbo frets, pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, and Luminlay side dots for low-light visibility.
Ships brand new in the Gretsch G6242L 17" deluxe hollow body hardshell case with all factory documentation. A true holy grail guitar — and one of the finest instruments Gretsch makes.
Maple Top with Arc-Tone Bracing
The foundation of this Falcon's rich acoustic voice is a wholly maple body with arched top and back. To maximize projection and woodiness across the full frequency spectrum, Gretsch utilizes an advanced bracing design which pairs torrefied maple tone bars with arc-shaped spruce support braces positioned directly under the bridge. This design enhances sustain, sharpens note attack, and controls feedback while maintaining the open, acoustic voice of a traditional hollow body.
PRO-FT Filter’Tron Humbucking Pickups
This iteration features a matched set of Gretsch's modern PRO_FT Filter’Tron humbuckers. These pickups are voiced to capture authentic vintage Gretsch chime while providing an updated, well-rounded tonal profile suited for contemporary playing styles. They deliver pristine, glass-like highs, a punchy and present mid-range, and robust, tight low-end tracking. The control circuit is completed with independent pickup volumes, a master tone control, and a master volume equipped with a premium treble-bleed circuit to maintain top-end clarity whenever you roll back your output level.
Modern Standard "U" Neck Architecture & Rolled Fretboard
Engineered for fluid playability across long sets, the maple neck features a comfortable, modern standard "U"-shaped profile across a traditional 25.5" scale length. The neck is capped with a premium 12”-radius ebony fingerboard containing 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays. For an immediate, broken-in feel right out of the case, the fingerboard edges are expertly rolled, minimizing hand fatigue during complex chord voicings and fast lead runs.
String-Thru Bigsby B6GP Vibrato & Locking Tuners
Optimized for rapid string changes and absolute tuning stability, this model comes equipped with a modern string-thru Bigsby B6GP vibrato tailpiece. By utilizing holes in the roller bar rather than traditional pins, stringing the instrument is significantly faster and easier while maintaining excellent downward string pressure over the gold Adjusto-Matic bridge. The hardware package is anchored by premium gold Grover locking tuning machines and a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut to ensure friction-free performance during expressive pitch shifts.
