Product Description
Here we have a fun Gibson USA SG Standard '61 in sunburst. This guitar has been well-used and has a few upgraded parts.
It features the traditional mahogany body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard. It has trapezoid fretboard inlays, a crown headstock inlay, and the smaller '61 guard. The pickups are Duncans with a Pearly Gates in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck. The tuners appear to be more recent with translucent buttons, but are a direct replacement. The nut has been changed and there is a Gotoh bridge on it. The wiring harness appears mostly changed and the tone pots are push/pull to coil tap the humbuckers.
The guitar shows dings and scratches over most of the body as well as over the face of the headstock. The guard has quite a bit of pick wear, and there is some light buckle wear on the back. The neck has a few light dings as well. There do not appear to be any breaks. The frets look good with faint signs of wear down low.
This one weighs 6lbs 10oz. The neck measures .810 to .930 at the 1st and 12th. It plays well up and down the neck with very nice resonance and good mid-range bite. The neck has a slimmer C profile correct to other early 60s reissues.
A great workhorse or gigging instrument. Ships in the original case and includes the factory checklist.
