Here we have an awesome 1956 Gibson Les Paul Special! This TV Yellow vintage guitar plays and sounds great!

The Special features a mahogany body, mahogany neck, bound rosewood fretboard, wraparound tailpiece and dual P-90 pickups. This guitar once had Grover tuners installed, but now has a set of modern aged strip tuners. The holes in the headstock were reamed wider on the back side to accommodate the Grovers. The truss rod cover looks to be a newer aged piece. The guitar has been refretted and the nut is changed. The bridge looks vintage but appears newer than the guitar.

The frets show faint wear but ring out nicely. The bridge posts have a touch of lean to them though the guitar sets up and intonates well. There is a nice patch of buckle wear on the back, along with other light dings and scratches all over its surface. The electronics are original, as well as the knobs and plastic parts. The finish is original as well and there are no breaks.

This one weighs 7lbs 2oz. The neck measures .920 to 1.010 at the 1st and 12th. It has a full vintage profile with a slight hint of a V apex down low. It's rounded without too much shoulder and feels great. The guitar is lively with tons of resonance and sustain. It's dynamic under the picking hand and plays effortlessly all around. The pickups are bold with a sparkly top end. A great player all around!
