Product Description

Here is a fabulous 1980 Les Paul Custom from Gibson. The white finish has aged nicely to a creamy yellow. The guitar is highly original with no breaks and no issues.

Clearly this one had some stickers or tape on it ages ago, as the finish shows old silhouettes on the top and back. These have long since been removed and there is no residue on the body. The nut has been changed to brass, per the trend of the time. The strap buttons are modern Schallers. Beyond this, the guitar appears to be completely original including the pickups and electronics.

The pickup covers are well-worn from playing. The bridge and tailpiece plating has worn smoothly through along the top surfaces. The tuning machines show light pitting. There are a handful of light dings on the body, but no major dents or damage. There are pick marks and play wear on the guard. The clearcoat on the back of the neck has been worn through from playing as well. The frets are original and look to be in good shape. This one has both been well-played, and well-loved.

The guitar has good resonance acoustically, with a warm and mellow punch off the body. It's still clear and articulate however, and you can tell it's been played a lot from the natural depth of tone. It weighs 10lbs 11oz and is well balanced. The neck is a modern C shape that measures .830 to .995 at the 1st and 12th.

Overall a wonderful vintage Les Paul Custom with a killer look! Ships in a Gibson USA brown and pink case.
