Product Description
Here we have a cool flame top 1974 Les Paul Custom! This one sports a transparent cherry finish and is in very good condition overall.
Specs include a 3-piece figured top, pancake mahogany body, 3-piece mahogany neck, neck volute, ebony fingerboard, and block inlays. It has waffle back tuners with a stop tailpiece and ABR-1 bridge. The pickups are the original stamped T-Tops with the covers removed.
This guitar is in very good shape for its age. It has light dings and scratches over its surface, along with light buckle wear on the back. The back of the neck has the finish worn through from playing in certain areas. The guitar had other tuners on it at some point, but the original Klusons are back on it. The tuner bushings are not original, nor is the jack plate. Otherwise the finish and other components all look to be original.
The serial number appears to be 657448, though it is stamped lightly. The guitar weighs 9lbs 7oz and has a slim C neck profile. It's one of the slimmer necks we’ve had on a Gibson, though it fills out a touch as it approaches the neck heel. The original frets are a little low and show a hint of wear but they play as you’d expect for the style of wire. The guitar is super resonant and slinky. We’re pretty floored with the sound and playability of this one, plus it looks awesome with the figured maple top!
Ships in the original hardshell case that has had some of the latches repaired. The original pickup covers are not included.
