Here we have a very cool player-grade vintage 1968 Les Paul Custom! This one is in good condition with finish touch up and changed electronics to note.
The serial number dates to 1968. The body and neck both appear to be one piece, there is no Made In USA and no volute. The guitar has a long neck tenon. The electronics have mostly been changed. The pickups are a set of DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAFs with aged gold covers. One capacitor and the toggle switch appear original, but the other pots and capacitor are changed.
The back of the neck has overspray. The body shows some touch up as well, mainly around the control knob area. The neck does not appear to have been broken. The pickguard is missing and the witch hat knobs are not original. The strap buttons are changed to Schallers and appear glued in for extra security. The tuners have been swapped to Grovers. The guitar has been refretted.
This one weighs 9lbs 12oz. The neck measures .890 to 1.010 at the 1st and 10th frets. It has a full, rounded C profile that is quite comfortable. The guitar has good clarity with a throaty mid-range and nice overtones. It has a punchy attack and loads of sustain. Really a great sounding example.
