Product Description
Here we have a 1952 Gibson L-7C acoustic archtop guitar! This one features a Venetian cutaway and is in very good condition overall.
Specs include a spruce top, maple back & sides, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge. The scale length is 25 1/4” and the nut width is 1 11/16”. It has Deluxe tuners, a trapeze tailpiece and a multiply floating black guard.
The hardware and finish appear to be original. It is refretted with narrow tall wire and has a replacement nut. The guard has a bit of a curl to it and the bridge inserts are mounted to the top of the holes instead of the bottom. The guitar appears to be crack free. It has a light patina, along with a number of light topical scratches and faint dings.
This one weighs 5lbs 3oz. The neck measures .890 to .960 at the 1st and 9th frets. It has a full oval C carve that has a nice vintage vibe without too much shoulder or depth. The guitar is open and woody with nice clarity acoustically. It has a snappy attack with good reflection off the top, and plenty of natural reverb emanating from within. Overall a fine example.
Ships in the original Lifton case.
