Dreadnought Vintage Acoustic Guitar
with Spruce Top, Mahogany Back & Sides, Mahogany Neck, Rosewood Fretboard, Adjustable Saddle - Natural Finish
Product Description
Here we have a very nice vintage J-50 from 1965! This ADJ adjustable bridge version is in very good condition overall with an aftermarket pickup installed.
This guitar appears to be crack-free and is sporting its original finish. The saddle and nut have been changed, and the guitar has been refretted. It shows checking over most of its surface, along with a number of dings and scratches. There is a small area on the lower back edge with a concentrated patch of wear. The frets show a touch of wear down low but ring out true.
The mahogany back on this one is particularly good-looking. It has a hint of red about it in certain lights. The checked finish over the wood grain gives us all the right vintage feels. This one has the narrow nut that was introduced around the time it was built. Tonally it sounds excellent with a warm low mid-range and crisp top end. It has nice sustain as well. It's not ultra-loud, but it produces a wonderful Gibson acoustic tone.
It weighs 4lbs 8oz. The neck measures .810 to .990 at the 1st and 10th. It has a rounded C profile with a slightly fatter shoulder in the higher register. The action is good, as is the neck set and intonation. It has a handy LR Baggs acoustic pickup installed which appears to be the Lyric.
Ships in a modern hardshell case and includes the original cardboard case.
