Gibson ES-345TD 1961 - Cherry

Semi hollow Vintage Electric Guitar - Cherry Finish

Product Description

This is a fantastic sounding ES-345 from 1961. This stereo varitone guitar is serial number A-36020 and sports a cherry finish with a Bigsby tailpiece. The guitar is in great working order with no breaks and weighs in at 8 lbs 10 oz

The bridge pickup is completely original with its PAF sticker, while the neck pickup has had one coil rewound and is missing the sticker. The guitar has also been refretted with modern wire. The hardware and other electronics are original and the stereo varitone is in-tact and untouched. The guitar has dings and scratches over its surface including a notable section of buckle wear on the back. The neck has worn in some areas exposing the wood, and there are divots in the fingerboard from play. The headstock edges have some light dings with a notable chip on the headstock corner. The gold plating on the metal parts exhibits wear and light pitting which is fairly standard to find.

This guitar has a great vibe about it. Clearly it was played extensively but well loved and well cared for. It has a slimmer 60's neck as you'd expect to find, measuring at .79" from the first fret to .89" at the twelfth fret. It absolutely sings through an amp and is quite a glorious guitar, getting all of the bluesy tones you could ever want. Though the varitone at times seems unnecessary, it does have a few usable sounds and we find ourselves flipping switches and turning dials constantly while playing this one.

It's a great guitar, easy to love, and loads of fun to play. Ships in the original brown tolex hardshell case that has a replaced handle and shows some wear through the tolex at the lower end. The original handle is included.
