Product Description

Here we have a really nice 1959 Gibson ES-330TD! This vintage thinline hollowbody electric guitar is in excellent condition with the original Stone Case Co brown and pink case.

Specs include a hollow maple body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and dot inlays. It has a trapeze tailpiece with ABR-1 bridge, and dual P-90 pickups. It is stamped ES-330TD in the bass F hole, and has an "S" FON visible through the treble F hole.

The finish, electronics, and parts appear to be original. The guitar has been refretted and the nut has been replaced. One truss rod cover screw is newer, there is an extra set of bridge wheels added for stability, and the end pin is missing. The bridge appears to be sinking just slightly. From certain angles the finish looks factory new on the body, though close up inspection shows light checking, minor topical scratches, and faint dings. The back of the body has light buckle wear noticeable when the light catches. The back of the neck has a concentration of light dings behind the 9th fret, most likely from leaning against an amp. The headstock shows restringing marks on the face, and the edges show light wear. There are no breaks. Even with these notes, we find it to be a well-cared for guitar for its age!

This one weighs 5lbs 14oz. The neck measures .885 to 1.015 at the 1st and 12th. It has a full, rounded vintage profile, and it plays well with the larger fret wire. The pickups sound great, bold and clean through a tube amp, but capable of breaking up if you really dig in. The guitar has a nice hollow body resonance like you'd expect from this model with plenty of sustain and overtones.

Ships in the original Stone case which has some artwork painted on the lid. The handle and latches all function correctly. Altogether a really great vintage package from 1959!
