Gibson ES-120T 1966 - Sunburst

Here we have a vintage 1966 Gibson ES-120T electric guitar! This one has a factory second stamp and is in very good condition overall.

Specs include a thinline, non-cutaway maple body, along with a mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. It has 20 frets with 14 clear of the body, dot inlays, and strip tuners with white buttons. The electronics are a single coil at the neck with one volume and one tone, which are mounted to a raised molded plastic guard fitted to the top of the guitar. It has a narrow nut width measuring about 1 9/16" wide.

This one has a 2 stamped into the back of the headstock, though it's tough to say why at this point. The guitar has light checking over its surface as well as a handful of minor dings, paint chips and scratches. The parts and electronics appear original as does the finish. There has been electronics shielding carefully added underneath the pots inside the molded guard. The frets look to have been dressed at some point and show a faint hint of wear. Ultimately though it's in great condition.

It weighs in at 5lbs 6oz. The neck measures .840 to 1.010 at the 1st and 10th. It has a D shaped neck profile down low. Up high it's more of a full C with a nice shoulder. The guitar is spanky and lively acoustically with a classic Gibson thinline hollow sound. The neck pickup sounds good and the acoustic quality translates well through it. Overall a fun vintage piece!

Ships in a non-original period chipboard case that is quite sturdy.
