Description
Here we have a road warrior Les Paul Custom from 2004 upgraded with a set of Bare Knuckle pickups. This one has been well-played and has a great vibe.
It was built around the time the Custom Shop took over Les Paul Custom production from Gibson USA. It features a mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, and ebony board. It does not have a long neck tenon. The pickups are a set of Bare Knuckle Stormy Mondays and the caps have been upgraded to Emerson. The strap buttons appear to be replaced.
The guitar shows dings and scratches over most of its surface. There are spots where the lacquer looks well-worn into the clearcoat. The neck has some light dings you can feel while playing. The back of the body has a patch of finish touchup, we assume hiding some buckle wear that made its way down to the wood. The frets are in good shape and may have been dressed at some point.
The guitar weighs 10lbs. The neck measures .840 to 1.000 at the 1st and 12th. It plays great with a tight, warm, mid-range attack. It's clear but not overly bright. There is nice definition and articulation to single notes, and it feels good under the picking hand.
Overall an excellent Les Paul Custom if you need a touring instrument or a worn-in player. Ships in the original case.
