Description
Here we have a nice Gibson Custom Shop Everly Brothers J-180! This dual guard acoustic was built in Bozeman, MT and features an ebony finish.
Specs include a jumbo maple body, sitka spruce top, mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. It has a hand-scalloped X-brace, rosewood belly-up bridge and a black lacquer finish. The Everly specs also call for star fretboard inlays, an engraved truss rod cover, and dual tortoise mustache pickguards. It comes loaded with an LR Baggs VTC under saddle pickup and preamp too.
The guitar is in very good condition. It shows light signs of being played and handled. It has light surface scratches, mostly on the top and guards, from polishing and playing. There are no dents, damage or major wear however.
This one weighs in right at 5lbs. The neck measures .860 to .940 at the 1st and 10th. It has a slim taper neck that is still rounded at the apex and not too thin. The guitar is a comfortable size and a touch easier to get sound moving than a larger J-200. It has a bolder maple sound with decent bass and scooped mids, but a clear and crisp top end. Single notes are quite articulate and the guitar plays well over the length of the neck.
Ships in the original hardshell case and includes the COA, checklist, truss rod tool, keychain, cloth, and other paperwork.
