Here we have a Gibson Custom Shop ’59 Les Paul from 2000! This one has been well-played and has an awesome vibe.
Specs include a flame maple top, mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, trapezoid inlays and Deluxe tuners. It has an ABR-1 bridge with stop tailpiece. The pickups are a set of Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers.
This guitar is worn in all the right places, with a nice patina across the hardware. There are light dings and surface scratches across the finish but no major damage. The burst has faded just a touch around the lower bout and the cherry back has faded to a warm mahogany brown hue. The Les Paul silkscreen is mostly worn away, and the headstock shows light patina on the front with tape residue on the back. The frets are in good shape with a hint of wear down low.
This one weighs 8lbs 5oz. The neck measures .900 to 1.050 at the 1st and 12th frets. It’s a quite large C neck with a full depth and a medium shoulder. This one of the larger necks you’ll find on a Historic, but also the typical carve for this era. The guitar is woody and resonant acoustically with good clarity. It’s well balanced and just the right weight for a Les Paul. It clearly has years of playing time put into it, but also appears to have been well-loved.
