2022 Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue
A recent R8 from the Custom Shop with all the latest historically accurate specs in a fan favorite finish: Bourbon Burst. The burst on this one is fantastic, with a nice dark color around the edges that is still transparent and a beautiful gradient into the light part of the burst. The maple top is not completely plain, there is a touch of movement in it that matches the look of many vintage examples. The mahogany back and neck look great, with the more recent aniline dye in use at Gibson.
The latest historic reissues spec are all present: a complete hide glue construction, tubeless truss rod, long neck tenon, holly headstock veneer, translucent single ring tuner buttons, nylon nut, unpotted Custom Bucker pickups, Luxe paper in oil capacitors, vintage taper audio potentiometers, and switchcraft switch and jack.
This '58 is in great condition, with just some light play wear and signs of handling. There is some light scratches in the top, mainly near the switch and by the controls. The headstock shows a bit of surface swirl and there is a touch of the back dye bleeding into the neck and body binding. The VOS finish looks great on this guitar, with a pleasing patina and tarnish to the hardware.
