Refined Monarch Ergonomics with Vintage Contours
The Fodera Monarch P Standard Classic is built around Fodera’s legendary Monarch body shape, modified with its own unique, player-friendly contours. It utilizes a classic alder body to provide a warm, resonant, and balanced tonal foundation.
Period-Correct 1960s Neck Profile
Designed to feel like a broken-in vintage workhorse, the 22-fret bolt-on maple neck features custom-tailored dimensions. The neck is intentionally carved slightly thicker than a standard modern Monarch profile, capturing the robust, hand-filling feel of a classic early 1960s instrument. This gives traditional players the familiar leverage and physical support they expect from a vintage bass, combined with Fodera’s flawless fretwork and effortless playability.
Early '60s Voiced Passive Electronics
Embracing a purely traditional, plug-and-play workflow, the Monarch P Standard features a completely passive circuit wired entirely in-house at Fodera's shop. The stripped-down control layout utilizes high-grade 250k solid shaft potentiometers, a premium 0.047uf tone capacitor, and a heavy-duty 1/4” input jack. This purist electronic configuration preserves the full dynamic range of the instrument, ensuring a pristine, interference-free path from the strings directly to your amplifier.
Vintage Punch via Nordstrand NP4V Pickups
At the heart of this bass is a Nordstrand NP4V split-coil pickup, selected specifically to deliver the legendary thump of an early '60s precision-style bass. The pickup incorporates staggered Alnico V magnets to provide the classic, woody midrange bark of a vintage instrument, but with an added layer of low-end focus and modern punch. The result is an incredibly authoritative, mix-cutting tone that honors historic bass tracks while meeting the rigorous performance demands of modern recording and touring ensembles.
