Description
The Fish Circuits Lunatique is a gated fuzz built around a blend of two distinct circuits, with a control range that goes from a warm, usable fuzz tone all the way to something considerably less predictable. This is the Limited Black edition — same circuit, black enclosure finish.
Controls
Chaos is the defining control of the pedal. It blends between two circuits across its range. Starting from noon — the warmest, most controlled position — turning clockwise introduces ring modulation, octave-up character, and a mid-heavy texture that gets increasingly difficult to tame. Turning counter-clockwise moves toward a more conventional fuzz voice, with added brightness as you approach the minimum setting. The left side of the dial is where you'll find the most familiar tones; the right side is where things get interesting.
Body controls how much low-end passes through the circuit. At its lowest setting, the full frequency range comes through for a rich, full tone. At the top position, some low-end is rolled off, tightening the overall sound — useful for dense mixes, complex chord work, or stacking with an overdrive.
Fuzz is the gain control. Lower settings keep things relatively contained, though the Chaos control still has a significant say in the outcome. Higher settings push the pedal into feedback territory — gating behavior can become unpredictable, and depending on your guitar and amp, you may get squealing, sustained feedback, or both. Worth exploring deliberately.
Level is the output volume control. There's a substantial amount of headroom here — enough to push an amp into breakup if that's the goal.
