Product Description
Here we have a cool vintage Telecaster from 1969! This one is in original condition with an enlarged neck pickup route.
Specs include an ash body, maple neck, maple fingerboard, sealed F tuners, and a string through body bridge with smooth steel saddles. It has a Jan 69 neck date and 1 meg pots that date to the 34th week of 1966. It’s loaded with dual single coil pickups and sports a multiply white pickguard.
The finish and components all appear to be original. The neck pickup route was enlarged slightly and then painted with shielding paint. The control cavity also has black shielding paint. The wiring harness shows some re-solding, but all of the electronics appear to be original. The finish shows light wear at the edges, along with light checking, dings and paint chips. The frets are in good shape with a low vintage profile. The finish has aged naturally and has a really nice hue to it.
This one weighs 7lbs 14oz. The neck measures .850 to .920 at the 1st and 12th. It has a D shaped neck with medium depth and a fairly consistent profile up until the neck heel transition. The guitar plays nicely with good resonance and string response. It’s twangy with a glassy top end and a nice warm bass band. It’s a good example of this era with just enough wear to enjoy playing out.
Ships in the original hardshell case.
