Here is a cool 1966 Jazz Bass from Fender! This vintage bass is in good condition overall with original parts and case.
The body appears to be an original olympic white finish that was oversprayed black. The black was subsequently removed revealing the original color. The black paint remains in the corners and down in the checking. A lot of the clear coat has been sanded through during the removal process. The bridge cover holes look filled and there are a few small spots near the bridge and controls that appear to have white hand painted touch up. The neck finish appears to be correct and unaltered. The parts and electronics all appear original and correct. Some solder connections have been touched up. The bridge cover and pickup cover are long gone.
The bass weighs 9lbs 2oz. The neck measures .850 to .975 at the 1st and 12th. It has a classic feel to it, rounded down low and more of oval C higher up. The neck is bound and it has block inlays. Many of the lower frets show light indentations but it plays cleanly. There is medium wear to the back of the neck and most of the parts show their age. However this one presents quite well without any egregious damage and plays wonderfully.
