Description
Here we have an awesome Fender Custom Shop Joe Bonamassa 1951 Nocaster "The Bludgeon" electric guitar, masterbuilt by Greg Fessler. This one is in excellent condition.
Specs include an ash body, maple neck, 7.25" Radius, and single ply black guard. It's loaded with a set of Seymour Duncan The Bludgeon pickups including a Nocaster single coil at the bridge and humbucker at the neck. The guitar has been carefully aged to replicate the wear on Joe's original.
This one weighs in at 7lbs 4oz. The neck measures .860 to 1.000 at the 1st and 12th. It has a U neck profile that feels a hair slimmer down low than most teambuilt Nocasters we've played. It's still a full depth carve though, vintage correct to the original Bludgeon. The guitar plays easily with plenty of resonance. It has that punchy ash tone off the body with good top end and twang. We also love the rounded feel of the fretboard edges down low as well as the worn-in body edges, clearly meant to capture the feel of the original.
This guitar ships in the original hardshell case. It includes signed COAs from Joe and Greg, as well as the bridge cover, strap, design guide, hang tag and other paperwork. Additionally it comes with a JB branded Telecaster ashtray.
