Here we have a fantastic Fender Custom Shop Esquire from Masterbuilder Dale Wilson! This is a 2016 model in excellent condition.
Specs include an ash body, quartersawn maple neck, heavy rolled fingerboard edges, and a compound 7.25" to 9.5" radius. It has a handwound Original Blackguard bridge pickup with full throttle wiring where the first position is direct to the jack, the second position is volume only and the third position enables the tone control. It's a lightweight guitar with an ultra thin finish that has been "smoked" to achieve the ultimate vintage vibe.
This guitar would have originally come with a 2 pickup upgrade kit, however those components are not included. It does appear that the kit was installed at some point as there are two mounting screw holes in the neck pickup route. Beyond that, the guitar appears to be original and in excellent shape with the heavy wear coming from Dale at the factory.
This one weighs 6lbs 9oz. The neck measures .950 to .990 at the 1st and 12th. It's a full size U neck profile that feels great with the finish "worn" off of the back and nicely rolled fingerboard edges. The guitar is loud and resonant acoustically with a warm ash punch and glassy top end. The pickup is strong and bold, and we love the modern full throttle wiring.
Ships in the original center-pocket tweed hardshell case and includes the Cruz tool kit, COA, sticker, picks, bridge cover, strap and other paperwork.
