Here we have a cool Custom Shop creation: a ’58 P-Jazz Bass! This one features a Precision body with a Jazz Bass neck.
Other specs include an ash body, quartersawn maple neck, 6150 fret wire, and a gold anodized guard. It has a 7.25” radius, 1.5” nut width and 34” scale length. It’s loaded with a handwound ’62 P-Bass pickup.
The bass is in excellent condition and does not appear to have been played much. The aging and wear all appears to be factory work.
This one weighs 9lbs 3oz. The neck measures .790 to .990 at the 1st and 12th. It has an early 60s Jazz Bass neck carve, which is a medium C, similar to a ’62 slab board. The bass plays effortlessly up and down the neck with loads of sustain and excellent response under the right hand. Obviously if you love the Jazz neck profile, but prefer the P-bass sound, this one is for you!
