4 string Used Bass Guitar
with Ash Body, Maple Neck, Gold Anodized Aluminum Pickguard, Soft V '57 Neck Profile with 9.5" Radius, Handwound '57 P-Bass Pickup - Aged White Blonde Finish
Product Description
Here we have a wonderful '57 P-Bass from our friends at the Fender Custom Shop. This is truly an iconic instrument, and potentially a more profound musical invention than even the Tele or Strat. '57 is a wonderful year for Fender in general, and this reissue bass is no exception.
Being an aged white blonde finish, this bass features a two piece ash body, along with the year-correct anodized aluminum guard. The neck is one piece maple with medium tint lacquer. It's a rift sawn neck which the builders tend to prefer tonally over quartersawn. The bass has the Journeyman Relic package, which is lightly aged with checking, a few dings, and subtly aged hardware, almost similar to a Cunetto guitar. This bass also had the finish removed from the back of the neck by Fender, per the floor traveler, to increase the aged aesthetic beyond Journeyman and give it a worn-in smooth playing feel. It features a 9.5" radius, 6150 medium jumbo fretwire, and a hand-wound '57 P-Bass pickup.
This one plays great with its soft V '57 profile and is easy to navigate. It's warm, round, clear, and punchy as you'd expect from the ash body / maple neck combo. It weighs in at 8lbs 10oz. The neck measures .930 at the 1st and .990 at the 12th. It is in excellent overall condition, and appears to be virtually unplayed. All wear appears to be stock Fender aging.
This is an excellent bass that ships in the original tweed center pocket hardshell case with Custom Shop embroidery. It includes the COA, floor traveler, leather strap, and paperwork.
