Here is a very nice ’51 P-Bass Super Heavy Relic from the Custom Shop! This 2022 model is in excellent condition.
Specs include a slab ash body, quartersawn maple neck, two saddle string through body bridge, and single ply black guard. It has a 7.25” radius with a 1.700” nut width and medium vintage fret wire. It’s loaded with a handwound ’55 P Bass pickup.
The bass appears to be in factory condition. It’s clearly heavily aged by Fender, but it does not appear to have been played much at all. There are Dunlop strap buttons installed, and there are no Fender strap buttons included. The bridge and pickup covers are removed, but they are included.
This bass weighs in at 8lbs 15oz. The neck measures .940 to .990 at the 1st and 12th. It has a ’51 U neck profile that is full and round. With the finish “worn” off the back it plays evenly and easily in all positions. We love the slab body basses, and this one really delivers.
Ships in the original tweed hardshell case and includes the COA, floor traveler, leather strap, picks, bridge cover, pickup cover, design guide and other paperwork.
