Product Description

A Jazzmaster from a unique American Vintage exclusive run for the fine folks at Wildwood Guitars in Colorado, the Thin Skin Nitro Series. The namesake of the run comes from the very fine layer of Nitro-Cellulose finish applied to the guitars, which is meant to let the instrument resonate more and age in the same way the guitars from the 50s and 60s did. This particular JM is finished in Firemist Silver, a somewhat rarer and very classy custom color from Fender although a bit tough to photograph accurately with a more blue look than you see in person. The headstock is painted to match the body, as many of the custom color guitars were, and the neck is bound with dot inlays like the original '65 Jazzmasters before they moved to a block inlay in 1966. Some other slick upgrades to the base model is a 9.5" radius and 6105 Narrow Tall frets.

The instrument is in overall excellent condition, with a bit of lacquer checking on the neck and a small ding at the forearm contour. The lacquer check is a small line on the bass side of the neck near the first fret and another emanating from under the low E string tuner. The guitar is living in its original black tolex case with a orange interior. The vintage style ephemera, strap, cable, bridge cover, and tremolo arm are all included as well. It weighs in at 7 lbs 10 oz and the neck measures .83" at the first fret to .97" at the twelfth.
