Description

The Fairfield Circuitry Roger That is an FM modulator/demodulator pedal that uses radio frequency interference principles to produce unpredictable distortion, noise, and signal degradation. It's not a conventional fuzz — it's a purpose-built tool for generating the kind of sounds that sit at the edge of controllable: pops, crackles, squeals, and volatile harmonic content that shifts with the controls.

The controls interact with the demodulation process rather than shaping a clean gain stage, which means small adjustments can produce large, unexpected changes in character. A FET preamp handles the input, and a CV input on the TUNE control allows external modulation of the demodulation frequency.

  • FET preamp
  • FM/AM radio-style signal degradation
  • RFI/EMI approximation
  • Volatile, unpredictable distortion character
  • Noise, pop, crackle, and squeal generation
  • CV input on TUNE
