Description
The Echo Fix EF-X3 Vintage Voice Desktop is a 100% analog tape echo built for players who want the warmth, wobble, and unpredictability of a classic tape machine, with the reliability and modern features that vintage units never had. Built on the EF-X3 platform by Echo Fix, a team that has spent nearly 15 years repairing and supplying parts for tape echoes, it is designed to behave like the real thing and then go a few steps further.
The Vintage Voice edition adds hands-on control over the imperfections that give tape its character. A dedicated LFO section with Rate, Depth, and Shape controls lets you blend from smooth sine-wave modulation to random sample-and-hold, so you can dial in anything from gentle wow and flutter to a deliberately unstable, living-tape feel. An extended motor speed range opens up slower, longer repeats and the dark, lo-fi texture of worn tape. Add the built-in analog spring reverb and analog BBD chorus, and the entire signal path stays analog from input to output.
Turn up the echo volume, push the feedback, and the EF-X3 will self-oscillate into something closer to an instrument than an effect.
