Description
This is an awesome '58 Korina Flying V style guitar. This white limba creation is an exacting replica of the iconic model, done in a nitro finish that is aged to perfection. It was built in the USA in 2023 by an unnamed builder.
The guitar features a two piece chevron joined old growth body, quarter sawn figured old growth neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. It has a '50s single action truss rod, 12" radius, jumbo frets, Kluson Deluxe tuners, and nylon nut. The pickup surrounds are butyrate M-69 rings, there is a replica no-wire ABR-1 bridge, and an aged brass tailpiece. The electronics consist of CTS 500k pots with NOS Centralab .02" ceramic disk capacitor, a Switchcraft 3-way toggle, and Switchcraft jack. The pickups are a set of custom-made replica PAFs with aged butyrate bobbins.
The guitar plays wonderfully. It's effortless under the picking hand, slinky, and easy to bend on. It's extremely resonant with quite a depth of tone off the body. Simply a fantastic guitar in all ways. It weighs 6lbs 12oz. The neck is a correct-feeling 58-style C that measures .935 to .975 at the 1st and 12th.
